Title: Electronic feedback control of molecular reactions in microfluidic structures.
Abstract: Detailed electronic control of reactions in a microfluidic environment has been a long-standing dream. In the programmable artificial cell evolution project (PACE, www.istpace.org), we have created a programmable feedback system for spatial chemical self-organization, the "Omega-machine", which features an electronic complementation facility for chemistry in the emerging artificial cell context. The lecture will present how this machine is setup and operated. Some experiments are shown and the feasibility of online feedback with fluorescence imaging as sensor-device and a multitude of low-voltage electrodes as actuators is demonstrated.
